The Secret Garden
Unfinished. A good friend passed away. It has been my companion for more over a year. Tomorrow I’ll be reunited with a new pencil who’d show me greater things.
At first, this was about a strong vice I could not relieve myself of. But I think it was sweeter for this to be about the little wonders we hide that threaten to spill from the swell inside of us.
Leaving into the distance, I realized for the first time.
With the beauty in your love, I reflected on this word “thank you”
and because of that day, I became a little bit more of an adult.
I pray modestly for you to “show me a happy smile”. For a long time…

I drew a lot within the past hour… I had a sudden epiphany over thesis care of a friend. So now I’ve been drawing tons of flourishes that are spinoffs from my usual oriental nouveau style. These are to be painted and placed in my book.

This is a photo of a spread I’m painting for yet another storybook project. I’ve got ample time before the deadline this time, so hopefully the other 7 spreads I have to paint would come out well.
I’m really swamped with work. Wish there’s a bit more time to draw for myself.

First drawing study I did for a painting. Needs a lot more work. It’s going to be in the Byzantine style, reminiscent of Klimt. I’m a bit excited with the idea of experimenting with gold acrylics and bold shapes.
But this study still remains un-rendered and the patterns aren’t drawn (the ones that are, are shabbily done D:).
Hope the next few studies prove to be more interesting.
