The Sketchbook Project: About the Art, and Replies to Questions
This post will be updated for every upload I make for My Sketchbook Project. It’s the one go to repository for my thought vomit regarding this endeavor.
Hello Everyone! It has been a painful long while.
Holidays brought with it so much work, that I scarcely have time to sleep anymore. My new uploaded artwork was something I came up with after a month of not drawing. Allow me to use this entry to talk more about My Sketchbook Project as well as to reply to some of your questions.
WARNING: This is a giant wall of text. This post will be updated every time I post a new Sketchbook spread
As I have mentioned, The holidays crept in and rackets came flying back and forth. It was a nightmare to keep up ‘napping’ for 3 hours a time every day. I’m just so glad to finally get some sleep and find time to draw after a month of not creating anything personal.
Likewise, I am now a participant for The Sketchbook Project, along with two of my lovely friends. I am looking to finish drawing my entire book by the end of Christmas Break. That probably means more uploads till then?
My Sketchbook Project
- Declarations: The image came together for me when a friend mentioned that I am surrounded with far too many ultimatums in my life. I’ve often been told that I am incapable or not allowed to do things. Somehow it turned out that my stubbornness was leading me to happy places where my creativity could thrive.
- The Fortune Bride: The larger spread was a very messy nest of hatching. I cropped it down to the most important elements of the drawing. The idea came from Feng shui fortune frogs. I will probably recycle this for another time. The rendering for this one started out with colored leads, and it became a bit of a mess when I experimented with chalk pastel.
Also to answer some questions…
from aaarwork regarding Declarations:
Amazing? what medium did you use? I love your work..@_@
Thank you so much for liking my work!♥ The piece was rendered with mechanical pencil + colored leads. RGB colors to be exact. My line art for the rest of my Sketchbook Project shall be in similar style with a few variations.
from turkeywang:
Your art is gorgeous.<3 Is most of your done on paper or an computer programs?
Thank you for liking my work ♥ Most of my work is drawn traditionally. Most of the time with pencils. I also make several stocks of painted textures and assorted materials which I reassemble with my artwork through Photoshop.
Next, I would like to thank everyone who have been so kind as to send me their well wishes and compliments. I am honored. There really are no words that can fully describe my gratitude. Thank you all for watching me, and I do hope that you would enjoy my next following works.
