Giuliano Redux

-removable commentary-
I’ve been compiling artwork for my creative folio and sifted through my old drawings to see if there’s anything I can update. Here’s Giuliano and I’ve really done a lot to refine the details and give it a more updated feel. Very satisfied with how it turned out.

Mashup of stocks I drew as flourishes for a contest I failed to enter. All of the sudden I was asked to participate in an exhibition next Saturday so I had to drop the project. Will update once the posters are released :)
My third and last addition to my wildcat drawings. This is actually still half of the original artwork which I am saving up for an event in the distant future. But for now, I leave you with this. Cheers~
I’ve made a lot of these study drawings on tigers and lions so I apologize for the ‘flood’. Here’s another one but drawn without any reference at all. Did some experimenting with my personal texture stocks too.
Even if it seems otherwise, I am alive and apparently still drawing. This is a study which was eventually regarded as unneeded and unnecessary for something I am currently working on. Still, I had a ton of fun drawing these and have found great healing in drawing animals. Nature is a wonderful fountain of inspiration. And with that I’d like to promote fuckyeahmothernature! My new favorite tumblr.
2010 My Card
A good friend gave me a kitty mask for my birthday last year. The original sketch on my moleskine was drawn on the fly on the day I got it. Post processed on Photoshop a moment ago.
2010 ink, paper, postprocessed on photoshop
My clientelle obligations are gradually becoming less and less stressing and I finally found time to start drawing (THANK GOD). I’m slated to do a painting commission which I’m dying to start on. Along with that, I look forward to priming canvases for my own personal use by next week. That and I finally get to write up some stylesheets for my own personal sites and domains.
This here is a work in progress for a group exhibition that I hope would push through. Getting to work with my hands after days of coding in front of a monitor would be a great relief.
This week has started out very rocky at home. Right now I’m a mess of feelings that I can’t seem to sort out and I’m trying to manage lining up my problems so I can tackle them one at a time. All I can do is do my best and hope for the best (And even pray).
Sorry for the lack of updates. In truth I do have pages that I can share but I want to put them on the back burner and mark them as studies. The adventures with my moleskine are fruitful. First, I discovered that the sketchbook does not absorb water well (you get very scattered effects and watercolor strokes aren’t as vibrant. They remind me of markers) but it does hold acrylic to the point that I can go ‘ala prima’ on it without tearing anything at all. It does leak in the creases but if you’re careful (or if you care very little) it wouldn’t really matter.
Well… back to work.
RATED NSFW FOR OBSCENE INACCURACY.
Drawn for a challenge. I don’t draw men at all since my hand is accustomed to doing gestures instead of shape figures or angles. This makes me want to facepalm but I learned a lot from this. Have to draw more.
I realized last week that in order to create the change I want to make, I need an incredible amount of power, influence, or money. And it scares me that I have suddenly found that need or rather I was forced into a circumstance that compels me to need.
I no longer have the privilege of waiting. I have to start reaching.
